Get to Know Dr. Brent
Your Board-Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Brent grew up in Houma, and he grew up around dentistry. Since he was three years old, his mother worked as an orthodontic assistant. In fact, she was employed at the very same practice that Dr. Brent now owns. After graduating, Dr. Brent starting serving the patients of Houma at Coastal Orthodontics, where he and his mom had the opportunity to work together prior to her retirement. It is so special for him to be treating new and old friends and families in his hometown.
His experience with dentistry as a child inspired Dr. Brent to pursue dentistry. He went to LSU for his undergraduate degree, working alongside his mom during his first two summers. After that, Dr. Brent worked alongside his future mentors at an office in Baton Rouge. He attended LSU Dental School for his dental degree and his orthodontic residency.
After graduating, Dr. Brent started working at Coastal Orthodontics, with the dream of eventually purchasing the office and owning the practice where his mother used to work. In July of 2022, Dr. Brent turned that dream into reality, becoming the owner of Coastal Orthodontics.
As an orthodontist, Dr. Brent’s favorite thing is how frequently he gets to see his patients for checkups and adjustments. He’s passionate about providing expert care, building real relationships with patients, and watching how their smiles transform and grow over time through proper orthodontic care.
Having been born and raised in Houma, Dr. Brent is also passionate about his local community. He is deeply involved in local dental and orthodontic organizations and is also a proud member of the 610 Stompers philanthropic dance troupe.
Outside of his professional work and work in the community, Dr. Brent and his wife are also both very active in their local church, including hosting and attending ACTS Retreats. They also love traveling the world and visiting their parents’ camps in DuLarge, LA and Pass Christian, MS. Dr. Brent also recently picked up pickleball and tennis, so you may spot him out at the local courts!

Your First Visits
What To Expect
Free Consultation & Treatment Plan
At Coastal Orthodontics, we offer 100% free consultations and treatment plans for both kids and adults. Give us a call or request an appointment online, then come to our comfy, well-appointed office. You can relax with a coffee or a complimentary bottle of water and wait for your consultation.
During your consultation, Dr. Brent and our team will take X-rays and photos of your teeth or your child’s teeth. Dr. Brent will also perform a comprehensive orthodontic assessment.
Lastly, Dr. Brent will discuss your treatment options with you. Braces, clear aligners, or even early interceptive orthodontics may be recommended, depending on your orthodontic needs, or the orthodontic needs of your child.
WHAT TO BRING
You don’t need to bring much, especially if you’re just coming in for a free consultation. However, in case you choose to continue your treatment at Coastal Orthodontics, we recommend bringing the following items:
- Credit/debit card for payment
- Insurance card, if applicable
- Records and x-rays from your dentist, if available

Our intraoral scanner allows us to develop a 3D image of your teeth, gums, and mouth. It also eliminates the need for goopy, putty-based dental impressions, which many patients find to be uncomfortable.
3D Printer
We have a SprintRay 3D Printer, which is one of the most advanced dental 3D printers on the market. This allows us to build our own clear aligners in-house, as well as many other orthodontic appliances. This simplifies treatment, speeds up the process, and keeps your orthodontic care affordable.
Fresh-Baked Cookies
Our patients rave about our cookies, which are freshly baked every single day. We’ll always leave you with something sweet when you’re done with your consultation or routine checkup!
Coffee & Water Station
Our coffee station has everything you need to make your morning joe the way you like it. We also offer complimentary bottled water to all of our patients. It’s important to stay hydrated!

If your kiddo needs a distraction, our iPad station is loaded up with all of the games they need to stay occupied. Sit back, relax, and wait for their appointment while they stay busy.
Tactile Wall
We also offer a lighted pegboard wall that’s great for kids who don’t need any more screen time. Kids of all ages can enjoy making different patterns and expressing their creativity in our play area.
